Home School Agreement

We recognise each child as an individual, and aim to give all children every opportunity to realise their full potential. We believe that a close partnership between the school, parents and the child is essential if we are to achieve this aim. We therefore ask all parents and children to sign up to our Home/School Agreement.

Hargrave Park School will:

  • ensure that safeguarding is our number one priority
  • ensure a clear and consistent behaviour system that supports all members of the school   community to feel valued and respected
  • ensure provision (including the extended day)
  • supports good attendance and punctuality including rigorous monitoring, rewards and reporting to parents/carers and external agencies
  • ensure our curriculum reflects and celebrates our diverse community
  • provide quality teaching and provision to ensure good progress in all curriculum areas
  • monitor individual pupil needs including attainment and progress measures and report to parents and carers
  • communicate with parents/carers through a range of forums formally and informally

Parents will:

  • support the school to keep all of the children safe
  • support the school in the implementation of the behaviour policy
  • ensure my conduct is respectful of all members of the school community
  • ensure my child is equipped for learning; bringing P.E. kit and book bag everyday
  • ensure my child comes to school everyday
  • not take holidays during term time
  • ensure my child comes to school in full school uniform every day
  • actively engage with all communication from school the website, newsletter and assessment information
  • attend parent consultations and other meetings requested by school to support attainment and progress
  • inform the school of any changes in circumstance including: contact details, medical needs and pastoral needs
  • support my child’s home learning including: homework, maths challenges, spelling practice/phonics, speaking and listening, support my child to read for at least 20 minutes a day

Children will:

  • support the school to keep all of the children safe
  • follow the school’s behaviour policy
  • be respectful of all members of the school community at all times
  • have PE kit and book bag in school every day
  • try to come to school everyday
  • come to school in full school uniform
  • read the school website and newsletters
  • engage fully with my learning ensuring that I always aim high and respond to expectations that are set
  • complete all home learning including:
    • homework
    • maths challenges
    • spelling /phonics practice
    • speaking and listening tasks
    • reading for at least 20 minutes a day
    • completing work from the school day when asked
